We all get used to the idea that we have to either go to school or go to work and that these activites take up most of our waking time...
As we grow older and our responsibilities grow also, our time to do what we want, with the people we want has to be restricted to time outside of these responsibilities...
I know I'm really just stating the obvious, but isn't life about being with those you care about and our family? Hmm... I don't know about you, but I feel that a lot of our activities these days seem to be taking us away from that... sitting in front of this computer, writing this journal is a perfect example of such an activity...
Anyway, with reference to the title of this entry what I'm trying to say is that we have a limited time here, we spend part of it in youth and part in the declination of our abilities and health (old age of course). The distance I refer to is both the heartfelt and physical distance between oneself and those you care about. Our opportunity to spend time together or have time to think about things other than work and responsibilities appears to diminish...
If only our society wasn't so concerned for the individual and focused on community...

btw, nice photos!

Art reaches its greatest peak when devoid of self-consciousness. Freedom discovers man the moment he loses concern over what impression he is making or about to make.
